Pathological or disease-related changes in fish tissue can be investigated using histopathology. This type of analysis plays an important role in medical diagnostics and research. The tissue samples are prepared and cut into thin sections, followed by colour treatment to see contrasts in cell components and tissue structures. Finished sections are scanned and digitised.
Blue Analytics offers histopathology through a co-operation agreement with the Norwegian Veterinary Institute. We send the tissue samples to the Norwegian Veterinary Institute for preparation of sections and staining, then return the digitised images to us for reading. We then summarise the findings in an easy-to-read report for the client.
