From 2 June 2025, Marianne Hauglid Flågeng is the new Head of Laboratory in Blue Analytics. She will be responsible for organising, planning and managing daily operations at the laboratory in Bergen. The goal is to ensure high quality and efficiency of the analysis services so that customers receive fast and reliable answers.

Marianne Hauglid Flågeng, Head of Laboratory in Blue Analytics
Marianne brings a strong professional background and extensive experience in both project management and method development.
She comes from a position as a senior engineer at the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research/NIFES, where she managed projects and developed methods for chemical analyses. Previously, she worked with molecular biological research as a postdoctoral fellow at Haukeland University Hospital. Prior to this, she worked as a departmental engineer at the University of Bergen.
Marianne holds a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Stavanger, as well as a master’s degree in molecular biology focused on zebrafish embryogenesis. She earned her PhD in breast cancer research at the University of Bergen. As a PhD fellow and postdoctoral researcher, she taught medical and master’s students, as well as supervised students towards completion of their master’s degrees.
